The event Hall of Somolu Local Government was filled to its capacity as family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to honour the cherished memories of the late Mrs Theresa Oladunni Talabi (Nee Kehinde), who answered the call to glory ten years ago.
The hall, beautifully adorned in purple, green and white colours symbolising peace and eternal rest, provided a serene and reflective atmosphere for the solemn occasion as guests, elegantly dressed in coordinated attire, were united by a common purpose, to celebrate a life of virtue, kindness and unwavering dedication to family and community.
The 10th remembrance anniversary was marked with heartfelt tributes, prayers, and songs of praise, as speakers took turns recounting the admirable qualities that defined the late matriarch.
Many described Mrs Theresa Talabi as a loving mother, dependable friend and a woman of deep faith whose legacy continues to inspire those she left behind.
In her opening remarks, the GM, Corporate Services, NEM Insurance Plc, and the eldest daughter on behalf of the Talabi siblings, Mrs Mojisola Teluwo, expressed gratitude to all who honoured the invitation despite their busy schedules, noting that though a decade has passed since her departure, her values of humility, generosity and perseverance remain deeply rooted in the family.
“Ten years may seem long, but her impact still feels fresh in our hearts. She lived a fulfilled life and planted seeds of love and unity that we continue to nurture,” she said.
Emotional moments filled the hall as children and grandchildren shared touching memories of her guidance and sacrifices. Friends also recalled her warmth, hospitality and readiness to offer support to anyone in need.
Clerics who officiated at the remembrance at the First African Mission, St’ John Parish, Bajulaiye Somolu, urged attendees to live purposeful lives, reminding them that life is fleeting and that the greatest legacy one can leave behind is good character and service to humanity.
Prayers were offered for the repose of her soul and for continued strength and unity within the family.
Meanwhile, guests were not only treated to mouthwatering, delicious dishes and drinks but also used that opportunity to mingle and exchange warm embraces, reflecting on the life and times of a woman many described as “a pillar of strength.”
A decade after her passing, the gathering served not only as a remembrance but also as a celebration of a life well lived, a testament that though the late Mrs Theresa Oladunni Talabi (Nee Kehinde) may be gone, her memory continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her.

Biodun Orekoya; Hon Olayinka Koya-Sodipe, the General Manager of LASACO Assurance Plc, Mr Olumuyiwa Anwoju, his wife, Mrs Bukky Anwoju, who sits atop HOOBA Group of Companies.

Meanwhile, the late Mrs Theresa Oladunni Talabi is survived by wonderful and well-cultured children who are now making waves in different sectors of the economy, amongst whom are Mrs Mojisola Teluwo,
