Dullar begins construction of council mosque for accessible place of worship

In a significant stride towards fostering religious harmony and spiritual development within Somolu council, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu, ‘Dullar,’ has flagged off the construction of the Council Mosque.
According to the Press Statement issued and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Oseni Owolabi Ajimomuiya said the initiative was aimed at providing a convenient and accessible place of worship for Muslims faithful within the council and its environs.
Speaking during the inspection of the building recently, Hon. Salawu emphasize the importance of spiritual well-being in the lives of the people noting that the project aligns with his administration’s commitment to inclusivity and community development.
“This mosque will not only serve as a place of worship but also as a center for learning and community-building activities. Our administration remains dedicated to ensuring that everyone, irrespective of religious or ethnic background, has a place to nurture their faith and find peace.” Dullar stated.
He further assured that the project would be executed to the highest standards, adding that local artisans and builders would be engaged to ensure that the mosque reflects the rich cultural heritage of the community.
Residents and council workers have expressed joy and gratitude for the project, describing it as an initiative that would strengthen the spiritual life of the council staff and the wider community.
The mosque, when completed, is expected to accommodate worshippers during daily prayers and special religious events. It will feature modern architectural designs and facilities that cater to the needs of the worshippers.
Hon. Salawu also used the occasion to call for continued support and unity among council workers and residents, urging them to see the mosque as a symbol of collective progress and shared faith.
Construction is expected to be completed within the coming months, and the council has promised to ensure a transparent and inclusive process throughout the project’s execution.
