The immediate past Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ has expressed profound grief and extended heartfelt condolences to Hon. Koya Olayinka-Sodipe over the tragic death of his son, Oluwadamilare Olayinka-Sodipe, describing the incident as a painful and irreparable loss not only to the family but to the wider community.
In a condolence message released to the Somolu Newspaper, the former council boss, ‘Dullar’ said the death of a child is one of the most devastating experiences any parent can endure, noting that no words can adequately ease the pain of such a loss.
He continued, “We cannot question Allah for He giveth and taketh at will but only take solace in Him, and I pray that God grants Hon. Koya, his wife and the entire family the strength, courage and fortitude to bear the sorrow”.
The former council chief noted that the late son was full of promise and had a bright future ahead of him before his untimely demise. He stated that the shocking news had thrown friends, associates and well-wishers into deep mourning, as the deceased was known to be respectful and well-mannered.
He urged Hon. Koya and members of the bereaved family to take solace in God, stressing that while the loss is painful, faith remains a source of comfort and hope in moments of grief. According to him, God alone gives life and also takes it at His appointed time.
He further prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed and asked God to console the Koya family and grant them enduring peace. The former council chief also assured the family of his continued prayers and moral support during this trying period.
Meanwhile, condolences have continued to pour in from political leaders, community stakeholders and residents across Somolu, Bariga and Lagos State at large, all expressing sympathy with Hon. Koya and his family and praying that God grants them the strength to overcome the painful loss.
