Chairman Ashimi defied the heavy downpour on Tuesday 28th of October, 2025 to lead another distribution of ‘Renewed Hope Palliatives’ to homebound Senior Citizens and Local Traders within the community.
In his quest to ensure the adequate welfare of the aged citizens who are confined to their respective houses, Hon. Lateef Ashimi was joined by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Hassan Ojomu and other aides to provide another set of beneficiaries with the same commodities distributed on Friday and
Saturday, including cash support, inventory items and healthcare opportunities for subsequent programmes.
Ahead of the Renewed Hope Cash Palliatives, Chairman Ashimi presented the official forms for the Support Programme to several individuals. The initiative aims to provide succour for the elderly, local and petty traders, and youth across the eight political wards. The forms ensure direct benefits and supplement the main recipient identification process, which has been tasked to the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) to maintain fairness and order.
On his duty rounds, he assured the elderly and local business owners he met, stressing that the council is committed to prioritising their welfare for grassroots development. He added that “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is also dedicated to nation-building, putting things in order and acting without sentiment or tribalism.”
Meanwhile, as the 100-day office mark approaches, the Council Mayor will elevate his administrative agenda by distributing cash palliatives and commissioning vital, sustainable infrastructural projects.
