Iperu-Remo agog as late Alhaja Risikat Oshinowo’s final burial holds in grand style

Family members, friends, associates and sympathisers from across Nigeria gathered in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, to bid a final farewell to late Alhaja Risikat Iyabode Oshinowo, as her final burial ceremony was held in a grand yet solemn atmosphere befitting her remarkable life and legacy.

The burial ceremony, which took place at the prestigious Ajadeh Event Centre, on Sunday, 8th of July 2026, attracted a large turnout of dignitaries, community leaders, religious clerics, neighbours and well-wishers who came to identify with the Oshinowo family during the period of mourning.

The event commenced with Islamic prayers led by respected clerics, who offered special supplications for the repose of the deceased’s soul. The clerics reminded the congregation of the inevitability of death and encouraged everyone to live a life of righteousness, compassion and devotion to Allah, stressing that good deeds remain the greatest legacy anyone can leave behind.

In their sermons, the Islamic scholars described the late Alhaja Risikat Oshinowo as a devout Muslim, a loving mother, a caring grandmother and a woman whose humility, generosity and unwavering commitment to humanity earned her admiration within and beyond her community. They prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, enlarge her grave and admit her into Al-Jannatul Firdaus.

Speaking on behalf of the family, relatives expressed profound gratitude to all those who stood by them through prayers, visits, phone calls and various acts of kindness following the passing of their matriarch. They noted that the overwhelming support received from friends, colleagues and associates had provided strength and comfort during their moment of grief.

The ceremony also featured heartfelt tributes from family members and close associates, who shared touching memories of the deceased’s exemplary life, describing her as a woman of integrity, compassion and unwavering faith whose positive influence would continue to resonate with generations to come.

Guests were lavishly entertained with mouthwatering dishes and life Band music that kept many of the guests on the dance floor as the family celebrated a life well lived. At the same time, many attendees reflected on the deceased’s enduring virtues and the impact she made on the lives of those around her.

As guests departed the venue, prayers continued to pour in for the peaceful repose of the soul of late Alhaja Risikat Iyabode Oshinowo, with many expressing confidence that her cherished legacy of faith, love and service would remain an inspiration to all who knew her.

Late Alhaja Risikat Iyabode Oshinowo is survived by her children and grandchildren, sister, and nephew.
