In a display of solidarity and respect, the Somolu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, received several delegations on a condolence visit following the passing of Hon. Basirat Oluwakemi Mayabikan, the representative for Ward F (Bajulaiye-Folagoro).
The Council Chairman welcomed a delegation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State Executives, which included the Secretary, Dr. Adeola Jokomba; Legal Adviser, Barr. Folashade Bakare; Financial Secretary, Asipa Wasiu Doyin Banjo; and the Assistant Treasurer, Chief Sonola.
The Chairman, joined by Rt. Hon. Tunde James Oyeyiola and other members of the 10th Somolu Legislative Arms, also hosted the Lagos State Chief Whip Forum, led by Hon. Eric Eninla Otinwa. Following their visit to the chairman, the forum proceeded to visit the deceased’s family.
In addition, the Bariga Legislative Arms, led by Rt. Hon. (Alh.) Wasiu Adeleke Balogun, and the Community Development Council (CDC) Leaders, spearheaded by Alhaji Tella Tajudeen, also paid their respects to Chairman Ashimi.
The visits concluded with a special prayer session for the peaceful repose of Hon. Mayabikan’s soul and for strength and comfort for her family, the Local Government, and the Legislative Arms.
