25th Anniversary: 97/2000 TASCE Alumni celebrate reunion in grand style

It was a nostalgic and joyous atmosphere as members of the 1997/2000 set of Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), formerly known as Ogun State College of Education, Ijebu-Ode, gathered to celebrate their 25th anniversary reunion in grand style.

The milestone event, which took place over the weekend at the prestigious Rolak Hotels and Suites, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State brought together former classmates, lecturers, and special guests who reminisced on shared memories, academic journeys, and the lifelong bonds formed during their college days.

The reunion was not just a celebration of the past but also a time to reflect on growth, reconnect with old friends, and give back to the institution that shaped their formative years.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Reunion Planning Committee, Mr Oladele Oyeledun (Droid), expressed deep appreciation to all members who travelled from various parts of the country and abroad to attend the landmark event. He described the reunion as a testament to the strength of unity and the enduring spirit of the TASCE alumni.

“Coming together after 25 years is not just about celebration; it is about legacy, gratitude, and the shared responsibility to uplift the institution that gave us a solid foundation”. He said.

Speaking at the event, one of the guests and the 97/2000 Alumni Set, Mr Sadiq Muhammed, noted that the reunion marked a new chapter for the alumni body, one driven by the desire to foster stronger ties and contribute meaningfully to the development of TASCE.

“This silver jubilee is not the end but the beginning of greater collaborations and support for our alma mater. We are committed to mentoring current students, upgrading facilities, and being actively involved in college affairs”. He said.

Some of the dignitaries present at the occasion include the CEO of Home Forte, Mr Olaniyi Durotoye, the CEO of Skotem Oil and Gas, Dr Sheu Olakunle, the CEO of AMS Oil and Gas Limited, Mr Sadiq Muhammed and Bar. Dipo Sobowale, to mention but a few.

In a goodwill message delivered by one of the guests, Dr. Olanrewaju Elembo enjoined the members present to prioritise their health status, especially those who are above 50, to enjoy what they’ve laboured to build over time.

Meanwhile, guests were treated to an evening of music, dance, laughter, and emotional reunions, as attendees shared stories of how far they had come since leaving the college halls 25 years ago.

As the curtains drew on the memorable occasion, there was a shared sense of pride, accomplishment, and hope – a reflection of the enduring values instilled in them by TASCE.

The 97/2000 alumni have not only reconnected with their past but have also charted a forward-looking course for the future, grounded in friendship, service, and collective growth.
