One of the foremost Lagos business moguls, philanthropists, and the Chairman of NEM Insurance, Chief Adewale Teluwo popularly known as ‘Obanta’ has reiterated his commitment towards continuous support for Muslim faithful with Ramadan Iftar in his neighbourhood which is one of Allah’s message to the rich particularly during Ramadan fasting, Somolu News reports.
According to the Ijebu-born business mogul who spoke to Somolu News said the gesture became necessary to give the Muslim faithful the needed soccour considering the significance of the fasting period adding that it was something he loved doing and will continue to give his support when and where necessary which he also sees as a way of giving back to the society.
He continued, “To be honest with you, this is not the first time I have been doing this. It’s something I have been doing for a very long time and I will continue to do this for my people and Islam considering the significance of the Ramadan fasting period which I believe will allow some of the Muslim faithful to fulfill and observe Allah’s obligations as enshrined in the Holy Quran”.
“And considering the economic hardship that has plagued the country in recent times due to the subsidy removal, I believe there’s the need to give out to the needy to keep the body and soul together. There’s reward in giving out and I know only God can reward me”.
The Chairman of the defunct Obanta turned VIP Football Club, however, enjoined the elites in the society also to contribute their quota and empower the vulnerable in their own little way which will go a long way in reducing the rate of poverty in the society.
Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries of the initiative, Mr. Tajudeen Ibrahim showered praises on Chief Teluwo for putting up the initiative adding that such a gesture will not only ease the burden of breaking the fast but also give them the hope of completing the task.
In conclusion, Mr. Ibrahim prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to bless the business mogul and every other kind-hearted Nigerian for their unflinching support in ensuring the less privileged around them also get the needed attention as at when due.
