The late Somolu LGA Women leader, Hon. Mrs. Abiola Fashoro (Akoi)

Barely one week after Somolu Executive chairman, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ lost his Special Advisers on Security, Hon. Tunji Idowu Oshokoya, another All Progressive Congress (APC) faithful and LGA Women leader, Mrs. Abiola Fashoro popularly known as Akoi gave up the ghost in the early morning of Wednesday after a brief illness.

According to a press statement from the office of the Chairperson of Somolu local government, Hon. Mrs. Mariam Omotanwa Salau described the death of the Somolu LGA Women leader as a shocking and devastating blow to the All Progressive Congress (APC), and the Somolu community in its entirety.

She continued, “It’s really a sad situation for us in All Progressive Congress (APC) to have lost a wonderful, passionate, dedicated, humble, and loyal party member to the cold hands of death. Though, we cannot question God. Akoi is an extremely loyal politician, leader, and an invaluable asset to Somolu APC, the community, and Lagos State as a whole.”

In a similar manner, the Special Adviser to the council chairman on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Hon. Mrs. Maryam Bada also hinted that the late LGA Women leader was a woman of honour who always carry her women folks along and put the party affairs first at all times. Easy-going and jovial.”Honestly, Akoi was a committed women leader whose contribution to the growth and development of the party cannot be over-emphasized. A great and wonderful mobilizer she was while she was alive. It’s my prayer that Allah will grant her aljanah fridaus and forgive her shortcomings. She prayed.
