…advises the players to put in their possible best
The Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ has vowed that his team from Somolu Ward C Ijebutedo will find its way into the final of the tournament and become the eventual winners of the championship.
According to Dullar, Mr. Koseleri as fondly called by his people in Somolu made this statement shortly after the unveiling and the draws for the tournament held at the banquet hall of Somolu local government where he said his boys were up to the task owing to their recent form and consummate skills.
“There’s no gainsaying, I know what they are capable of doing and I believe they are in their best form in the recent. I call them ‘the unstoppable’ “.
“Aside from that, I’m willing to fortify the team ahead of the game in-kind and cash which I believe will go a long way in getting the best out of them and the needed result.” he boasted.
Dullar, however, admonished the organizer to be fair and use the opportunity to discover talented players that’ll do Somolu, Lagos, and Nigeria proud while urging the players to put in their best in order to achieve their football career goal.
Meanwhile, the game began on Saturday 27th of November, 2021 with Bariga Ward E defeating Somolu Ward E 2-0 in the opening match while the second match between Somolu Ward A and Bariga Ward B ended in favour of Bariga Ward B
In other games played at another center (CMS Pry Sch) Bariga Ward A lost to Bariga Ward G on a 5:4 penalty after a goalless draw.
Somolu Ward B and Somolu Ward F slugged it out for supremacy but the match ended in a stalemate which has to be decided on penalty shootout after which Somolu Ward B had the upper hand penalties 9:8
As it stands, Bariga Ward E, Bariga Ward A, Somolu Ward B, and Bariga Ward B are through to the quarter-finals.
