205 days after the Alade market fire incident that rendered the traders redundant as a result of the October 20th, 2020 #Endsars saga, many of the traders are still struggling to make ends meet despite little support from the government that saw the need to put smiles on their faces.
Speaking to some of the victims of the incident who craved anonymity revealed to Somolu news online that their life has not been the same since the fire disaster noting that they’ve been trying hard to put things back in their shapes without success.
“Although, I give God the glory that I’m still alive and I pray to God for speedy recovery and blessings for me to bounce back fully and put the ugly incident behind me”. he posited
Another victim who reluctantly attended to Somolu news recounted the sad event said taking care of the home front as a breadwinner of the family has become a difficult task especially putting food on the table as well as paying school fees and house rents which are very important.
He continued, “Let’s agree that the school authority where my children attend and my landlord will understand my plight, will our stomach understand going hungry?
“Eating three square meals is no longer tenable unlike before where I would have made most of those things available with ease but now, the reverse is the case”.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu has pledged his unflinching support of ensuring the markets are rebuilt in due course to further alleviate the suffering of the traders which’ll go a long way in resuscitating the economy of the community.
