Chairman Ashimi Honoured with Award of Excellence from Love Zone Gents in Ward E

The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, has been honoured with an Award of Excellence by the Love Zone Gents (AA Plaza Base), a socio-civic group based in Ward E of the Somolu community, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and commitment to grassroots development.

The award was presented to the council boss during a special visit by members of the group, led by their coordinator, Mr Ade Bendel, who described the honour as a token of appreciation for Chairman Ashimi’s visionary style of leadership and people-centred governance.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr Bendel said the award was bestowed in acknowledgement of the chairman’s steadfast support for community growth, inclusive policies, and humanitarian interventions that have continued to uplift residents across Somolu. He noted that the administration’s responsiveness to the needs of the grassroots and its emphasis on unity and progress have endeared Chairman Ashimi to the people at the ward level.

“Hon. Ashimi has demonstrated uncommon leadership marked by compassion, accessibility, and a clear vision for the development of Somolu. His efforts at empowering residents and improving community welfare have not gone unnoticed,” the group stated.

In his response, Chairman Ashimi expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Love Zone Gents for the honour, describing it as both humbling and motivating. He commended the group for their thoughtfulness and active role in promoting unity and positive engagement within the community.

The council chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, continuous engagement with grassroots stakeholders, and the implementation of policies aimed at sustainable development. He assured residents that his government would remain focused on delivering people-oriented programmes that would further position Somolu for growth and prosperity.

Hon. Ashimi also called on community groups and residents to continue to support the council’s developmental agenda, stressing that collective effort remains key to building a stronger and more prosperous Somolu.
