Season 4 of Orekoya Alliance Tournament kicks-off in grand style as organisers conduct draws.

In a grand and remarkable ceremony, the organiser of the Orekoya Alliance Tournament (OAT) officially unveiled and conducted the draws for Season 4 of the prestigious grassroots football competition.

The colourful event, which symbolised another milestone in the drive to promote youth empowerment and sporting excellence across Somolu-Bariga, attracted a large turnout of dignitaries, sports enthusiasts, and community leaders.

They commended the organisers for their unwavering commitment to nurturing young talents and fostering unity through the beautiful game.

Among the prominent personalities in attendance were the immediate Past Chairman of Bariga LCDA, Hon. Kolade Alabi David, the Lagos House of Assembly member representing Somolu Constituency II, Hon. Samuel Apata, the Chairman of Bariga LCDA, Hon. Bukonla Adedeji (Iyaniwura), the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, Gafar Liam, Agunbiade, and several others, who took turns to eulogise Hon. Abiodun Abimbola Orekoya, convener and driving force behind the initiative.

They lauded his consistent dedication, patriotism, and transformative impact in advancing sports development, youth empowerment, and community growth within Somolu, Lagos State, and beyond.

Speaking at the unveiling, several speakers described the Orekoya Alliance Tournament as more than just a football event, emphasising that it has become a platform for discovering raw talents, strengthening community bonds, and steering youths toward positive engagement.

Meanwhile, anticipation continues to build ahead of the official kickoff, as the defending champions are set to lock horns with Bashua Ward B, Somolu, in the tournament’s opening match on Saturday, November 15th.

The Orekoya Alliance Tournament Season 4 promises to deliver thrilling football action, youthful energy, and community spirit as teams battle for supremacy in what has become one of the most celebrated grassroots sporting events in Somolu-Bariga.
