A Lagos-based Islamic organisation, Al-Mujeeb Mosdarul Istijabat Society of Nigeria, has announced that it will hold its annual Maoulud Nabiyy celebration on Saturday, October 25. The event is set to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), a tradition widely observed across the Muslim world with spiritual reflection, educational activities, and community unity.
According to the organisers, this year’s Maoulud Nabiyy promises to be a spiritually uplifting event, featuring Qur’anic recitations, lectures by prominent Islamic scholars, and special prayers for peace, progress, and unity in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by the Chairman, Planning Committee, Alhaji Yusuf Sulaiman, the celebration will also serve as a platform to foster greater understanding of the Prophet’s teachings and their relevance in today’s world.
“Maoulud Nabiyy is more than a celebration; it is a reminder of the Prophet’s message of peace, compassion, justice, and devotion to Allah,” the statement read. “We encourage all Muslims and well-wishers to join us in honouring this blessed occasion.”
The celebration billed to take place at No. 50, Abiodun Street, Somolu is expected to draw participants from within and outside Lagos, including traditional rulers, Islamic clerics, youth groups, and members of the wider Muslim community.
Al-Mujeeb Mosdarul Istijabat Society of Nigeria, known for its active involvement in religious education and charitable outreach, has hosted the annual Maoulud Nabiyy for several years, each time highlighting different aspects of the Prophet’s exemplary life.
Expected at the event as the lecturer at the event includes the Chief Imam of Offa, His Eminence, Ash-Shaykh Dr. Muhyiddin Salman Husayn, Fadilat Sheikh Alhaji Imam Anofi Arikewuyo Oreoluwa will be the Chief Host while Fadilat Sheikh Alhaji Imama AbdulRasheed Anofi Arikewuyo Oreoluwa (Abu-Anifah) stand as the Host.
As preparations intensify, the group has assured attendees of adequate security and proper arrangements to ensure a smooth and meaningful celebration.
