Due to social distancing, and to ensure food points are easily accessible across the length and breadth of the LCDA, the ongoing ‘One Meal A Initiative’ of the Mayor Dele Oshinowo led-administration has been decentralized into 27 locations starting from 22nd April 2020.
The ongoing programme which entered its second day with a feeding tour to Adisa Akintoye Street and its environs and Owode-Ajegunle Area of the LCDA today is aimed at alleviating the burden of feeding during this lockdown.
The council mayor, Dele Oshinowo said the exercise was made possible through the financial support of the Lagos State Government headed by Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
According to the first citizen, 3,500 struggling residents of the LCDA will be fed with noodles and eggs as daily breakfast with each vendor feeding 100 individuals daily.
Further to this, in a bid to achieve effective implementation, the LCDA has recruited 27 food vendors, with 26 out of them to operate from a fixed location while the remaining one will operate in a random approach.
