In a move to foster spiritual upliftment and community bonding through music and worship, the Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Somolu Constituency I, Hon. Abiodun Abimbola Orekoya, is set to host a grand gospel event tagged Night Praise.
The much-anticipated praise night is scheduled to take place at 4pm on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the newly constructed Somolu Local Government Administrative Complex in Somolu, Lagos.
The event promises to be a soul-lifting experience, drawing gospel music lovers and worshippers from far and wide. According to the organizers, Night Praise is not only a night of musical celebration but also a platform to offer prayers for Somolu, Lagos State, and Nigeria as a whole.
Among the highly acclaimed gospel artistes lined up to grace the stage are Gbemi Olaleye, widely known for her hit track “Mo ti Gba Leta Ayo”, Lady Evangelist Bukola Akinade of “Senwele Jesu” fame, and Bois Olorun, the popular Gospel Apala sensation. Their performances are expected to usher in a divine atmosphere of praise, worship, and thanksgiving.
Hon. Orekoya, while speaking on the vision behind the event, said Night Praise is a way of giving back to the community and acknowledging the role of faith in driving social harmony and personal development.
“This is beyond entertainment; it is a night to seek the face of God, to thank Him for how far He has brought us, and to pray for greater peace and prosperity in Somolu and beyond,” he said.
Residents, church groups, and youth organizations across the local government are already gearing up for what many have described as a historic gospel event in the heart of Somolu.
