The newly completed Somolu Local Government Secretariat was a hub of activity on Friday, January 31, 2025, as Hon. Mike Steven Oikhe, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Somolu and former Revenue Chairman of the local government, alongside his siblings, hosted a befitting final burial ceremony for their late Mother-in-Israel; Mrs. Faith Malomo Oikhe.

The high-profile event attracted a distinguished gathering of top government officials, political leaders, community influencers, and religious figures who came to pay their respects and honour the life and legacy of the late matriarch.

In an emotional tribute, one of the children, Mrs. Oikhe, described her late mother as a devoted Christian who dedicated her life to serving God and raising her children in the way of the Lord. “She never compromised on our upbringing and extended her kindness to everyone, regardless of tribe or colour,” she said.
