Sola Odunukan remembers parents with special prayer session

It was a tumultuous turnout on Thursday, January 30, 2025, as family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to honour the 26th remembrance anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Babatunde Odunukan, the late parents of renowned oil and gas merchant, Mr. Sola Odunukan.

The low-key event, held at his Abimbola residence in Somolu was marked by a special prayer session reflecting the late couple’s deep-rooted values of faith and unity as attendees also joined in offering prayers for the eternal repose of their souls and shared fond memories of the deceased.

In an emotional tribute, Mr. Odunukan, an Ijebu-born Oil and Gas merchant, described his late parents as wonderful and caring individuals who made great sacrifices to ensure their children received the necessary care, support, and moral upbringing. He expressed gratitude for their enduring legacy, stating that their love and discipline laid the foundation for his success in life.

“My parents were a source of strength, guidance, and inspiration. They taught us the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion, which I hold dear to this day. It is only fitting that we continue to remember and celebrate them”. He said.

The remembrance ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the political circle, the oil and gas industry, community leaders, friends, and members of the Odunukan extended family. Guests were treated to a reception where they shared stories about the late couple’s remarkable impact on their community.

Many attendees commended Mr. Odunukan for upholding his parents’ legacy and ensuring that their memory lives on through acts of kindness and philanthropy. The event concluded with an appreciation, emphasizing the importance of cherishing family values and honouring those who paved the way for future generations.
