In a recent visit to Somolu Local Government, an inspection team from the Lagos State House of Assembly praised the council chairman for his exceptional contributions to infrastructure development and the welfare of his people.

The legislative team, led by Hon. Babatunde Okanlawon, who represents Kosofe Constituency 1 and chairman of the House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs & Rural Development, commended the remarkable achievements of the Dullar-led administration.
During the inspection tour, Hon. Okanlawon highlighted the significant impact of the council’s development projects on the community. “Dullar’s efforts in Somolu are iconic,” he said, emphasizing that the infrastructural developments deserve high praise.

He specifically lauded the successful completion of several key projects, including the Somolu Legislative Complex, Somolu Fire Service Station, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Primary Healthcare Center, and the soon-to-be-commissioned Bashua Police Station.

Hon. Okanlawon further noted that the Somolu Local Government serves as a model for other councils, applauding the administration’s dedication to community development. The legislators were particularly impressed by the New Somolu Local Government Administrative Complex, which they described as an “iconic edifice” symbolizing effective leadership and progress in governance.

The inspection team included Hon. Kehinde Joseph, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya, Hon. Jubril AbdulKareem, Hon. Samuel Apata, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, and Hon. Ajayi Oladele.
Accompanying Hon. Salawu ‘Dullar’ at the forum were the Vice Chairman of the council; Hon. Adekunle Ekiyemi-Odujobi, the leader of the Legislative Arm; Hon. Yomi Osunkoya, the Somolu Legislative Council members, and Hon. Ayodele Afolabi (SLG).

Also on the Salawu’s team include the Council-Manager, Mr. Abiodun Babinton, alongside other senior management officials, who also attended the meeting.

Fielding news from the newsmen shortly after the inspection, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu described the inspection tour of the key projects by the State legislators as a welcome development which he said would create room for accountability and trust while it will also keep excessive spending by the local government administrators at bay.

“Although, they made some observations which we’re going to look into and do the needful as soon as possible. It’s okay, nobody is perfect, we’ll work on all the necessary recommendations which we know are for us to get the job done perfectly and for the betterment of the people of Somolu community”.

“As I have always said, I will leave behind a lasting infrastructure legacy. I will ensure I live up to the expectations of my people according to my campaign promises, and that is exactly what I have been doing till the last day in my office. And I wouldn’t have achieved all these without the support of my executive members, Somolu All Progressive Congress (APC) and the entire people of Somolu community”.
