The Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ in his usual manner on Monday 13th of May, 2024 held a Stakeholders Meeting with the members of the Ijebutedo and Aroda CDAs to devise a formidable way of constructing Dabira/Emmanuel/Albert roads leading to Tudor House in Palm-grove axis according to Lagos State standard.
According to the Somolu council chairman ‘Dullar’ who made this submission during the meeting where he reiterated that the construction of the said roads with interlock stones will not only reduce traffic but also make the moving of goods and services more efficient considering the significance of the newly remodeled Olaleye Market thereby improving the socio-economic development of the area.
He continued, “We wish to assure the Ijebutedo and Aroda CDAs that we have all that it takes to execute the projects and we’re seeking your maximum support as the interconnected roads will be executed with covered drainages, side walk and resurfaced with interlock stone replacing the old way of using asphalt”.
“We’re going to use one stone to kill 3 birds, from Adeola to Apata, we’re going to rehabilitate it, from Olorunshogo back to Apata, are also going to be rehabilitated with the Lagos state standard of executing road projects”. He stated.
He, however, enjoined the stakeholders in the area to cooperate with the contractors for smooth operation to achieve the needed result as envisioned.
In his closing remarks, he stressed that the road projects when completed will ease the challenges of human and vehicular traffic that often plagued the Oguntolu and Shipeolu area of the local government noting that socioeconomics activities will also improve drastically.

Yomi Oshunkoya, the Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman; Hon. Folarin Olubiyi, the Secretary to the Somolu LG (SLG); Hon. Dele Afolabi, and the Chairperson of the Somolu LG; Hon. Mrs. Mariam Omotanwa Salau.
Others include the former Sole Administrator of Somolu SLG; Hon. Williams Bamidele Lawanson, the former Somolu SLG and Apex leader; Hon. Ademola Adefalujo Olisa, Apex leader Alhaji Fatai Bakare (Baba-Oba), Ward E Apex leader; Hon. Bisiriyu Akewusure, Hon. Kola Adebayo and the host other numerous to mention.
