The former Chairman of Somolu/Bariga People Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Niyi Osibemekun (a.k.a Jackal) has showered encomium on the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government; Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ for his ‘heart of gold’, putting soccour on the faces of his people through the poverty alleviation programme (N20m Cash Intervention) where 1000 indigents were given N20,000 cash each.
The former Regional Chief Accountant of Palnapina who spoke to Somolu News shortly after the event described the cash initiative as a fantastic and exemplary move by the Council chairman who has proven himself beyond reasonable doubt that he’s a good leader who has the interest of his people at heart.
He continued, “Dullar is no doubt doing a fantastic job putting smiles on the faces of the people through the cash intervention initiative. He’s such an exemplary political leader whose visionary and transformative leadership has positively impacted the people and the community”.
“Look at what he’s doing at our new Secretariat, the roads, drainages, and street lights. He deserves all the accolades that come his way and I will continue to support him when the need be. He has set a very good example and I see this as an unprecedented legacy he should continue with and if there’s a third term for people like him, he deserves it”.
Meanwhile, in his closing remarks, Hon. Jackal who recently defected to APC enjoined the stakeholders and the community to continue to offer the council chairman all the needed support where and when necessary while urging the beneficiaries to make good use of the fund.
In the same vein, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ reiterated his commitment to addressing the challenges faced by Nigerians and the local community with strength, kindness, and unity exhibiting a strong dedication to support the residents and petty traders.
The council boss said the initiative led by Comrade Isiaq Buna’s committee was specifically for those in need, which he said would ease their burden during the challenging times.
“As a local government closer to the people, we understand the unique struggle our residents face. We appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State for their transformative leadership and support. However, we also see the need to add to this effort at the local level. Our goal is simple; to make life easier for our people and provide for their needs during tough times”.
Similarly, ‘Dullar’ in his speech emphatically said that the N20m for phase 3 will help 1000 residents and petty traders in Somolu offering them crucial support adding that his administration is committed to offering development projects such as the soon-to-be-opened new Somolu local government administrative complex, Somolu Legislative Complex, Somolu Fire station, Bashua Police Station, Wesley Primary Healthcare Center and Wesley Primary School.
Other ongoing road projects embarked on by the AbduHamed led-administration include Kalejaiye Street, Oyebajo Street, Isaac John Street, Durojaiye Close, Awofeso Street, Adeola Street, Olorunsogo Street, Dabira Street, Emmanuel and Albert Street.
