The dust has finally settled as political stakeholders in the community waded in to reconcile the warring political gladiators and state House of Assembly aspirants, Hon. Biodun Orekoya and Hon. Williams Lawson who had been at loggerhead over who get what in the last couple of months.
The leaders said the move became necessary in order to avert unnecessary political brouhaha that could throw the community into an unending crisis that could to the loss of lives and properties.
Meanwhile, the crisis has degenerated with the political stalwarts and their supporters exchanging words on political platforms to the extent that the key actors kept each other at arm’s length whenever they meet at functions which raised eyebrows among other leaders in the community.
The initiators of the reconciliation move who claimed anonymity, however, urged the warring parties to bury their hatchet and work for the unity of the All Progressive Party (APC) and the Somolu community at large in order for peace to reign.
The duo in their remarks promised to work harmoniously according to the party’s rules and regulations so as to move the party and Somolu community to the next level.
