Nigeria sports industry loses yet another sports personality

Nigeria sports industry and Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has been hit again with the death of one of the most vibrant Basketball referees in Nigeria, Razak ‘Slims’ Okedeyi.
According to report reaching somolunewspaper.com.ng, he was to have died earlier today after complaining of a headache. ‘Slims’ as popularly known among the Basketball fraternity was a young and versatile referee who brought swag to Bball officiating in Nigeria.
His penchant for basketball was unparalleled. Apart from being a referee, he also helped the media department during competitions as not just an announcer but an experienced graphics designer.
Razak ‘Slims’ Okedeyi also had an academy where he tutored the next-generation of basketball players and referees.
Just a few days ago, the sports industry lost one of the pioneers of Women Football in Nigeria, a veteran Journalist and philanthropist, Herrieta Ukeagwu to the cold hands of death while the industry is yet to recuperate from the sad incident and now this.
You have left us to mourn, but your good works will live forever as I fondly remember you
Rest in Peace, Rasaq Zack Slims Okedeyi. It’s indeed a dark Thursday for Nigerian Basketball family and Nigeria sports in general really.
