It was a heartwarming celebration of life and legacy as the family of Dr. Kasim Oladipupo Bada, a respected academic at Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Lagos honoured him on the occasion of his 60th birthday anniversary on Saturday 5th April, 2025.
The low key event, held over the weekend in Lagos, saw family members, friends, academic colleagues, and well-wishers taken to their social media handles to celebrate a man described as the perfect blend of intellectual brilliance and family devotion.
The celebrant, a scholar at LASU, was lauded not only for his scholarly contributions and mentorship within the university community but also for being a pillar of strength and guidance both to his immediate and extended family.
Speaking at the event, his eldest brother, Sup/Snr/Evangelist Ademola Bada, described his brother as “a loving and principled man whose values have shaped the family in countless positive ways.” He recounted how the don had managed to strike a balance between his professional obligations and his responsibilities in the family.
“He is not just an academic giant but also a compassionate blood brother and father. He always made time for us in the family despite his busy schedule”. He said.
Other siblings of the celebrant also took turns to express their admiration for their brother, highlighting his wisdom, patience, and unwavering support throughout their upbringing.
Colleagues from LASU, in their tributes, spoke of the his extensive contributions to research, leadership in academic development, and his mentorship of younger scholars.
In his response, Dr. Dipo Bada expressed deep gratitude to his family, friends, and colleagues for their show of love and support. He also used the opportunity to reflect on his journey so far, attributing his accomplishments to the grace of God and the unwavering support of his loved ones.
“I am immensely grateful for this moment. It reminds me that a life dedicated to purpose, people, and progress is a life well-lived”. He said.
As he begins a new chapter at 60, many present at the event wished the celebrant continued good health, peace, and many more years of impactful service to academia and society.
