…encourage students with educational materials
The Wife of the Chairman, Hon. Shakirah Temitope Ashimi, on Monday visited the two centres of the Year 2026 Intensive Summer Coaching Programme, encouraging pupils and students to take advantage of the crucial opportunity bestowed upon them for future success.
Addressing the students, she stated: “It is important that we applaud the Council Chairman for ensuring this coaching intervention is sustained for this season. It shows how thoughtful and dedicated he has been through the Department of Education and Library Services.
“We must also commend our teachers. Out of their busy schedules, they have taken the time to be here to educate and inspire you with their knowledge so you can achieve greatness in the future. You must remain focused to adapt and make the most of this wonderful privilege.
“Your current circumstances are not the limit to what you can achieve in life. By God’s grace, you can become great professionals in any field you choose. Even the Chairman and other officials started somewhere before reaching their current milestones, and he will be here in a few days to monitor your progress.
“You must endeavour to make your parents and Somolu Local Government proud so that we can all celebrate your triumphs collectively. May God always protect you.”
Alongside other Council Officials, including Hon. Omobolanle Dabiri (Super, WAPA); Hon. Adekunle Ekiyemi and Mrs. Adefowora Abimbola (Special Adviser and Rep. HOD Education), Hon. Mrs. Esther Okeowo (APC Woman Leader); Mr Olusada Kayode and Ita-Edet Samuel (PA to Chairman and Deputy CPS); Mr Shodipo Ismail and Mr Kamoli Mustapha (Centre Coordinators), and Team-LA, she distributed educational materials and refreshments across both centres as tokens of encouragement to support their learning.
The beneficiaries reciprocated the gesture by applauding the Hon. Ashimi-led administration for its exemplary leadership.
