The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, has extended warm congratulations to the newly elected Ward Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the Somolu Federal Constituency, charging them to uphold the principles of diligence, transparency, and inclusive governance in the discharge of their duties.

In a statement made available to newsmen, Chairman Ashimi described the emergence of the new ward executives as a significant step toward strengthening grassroots democracy and enhancing the party’s operational effectiveness within the constituency.

He noted that the ward structure remains the backbone of political mobilization and governance, emphasizing that the success of the APC at higher levels largely depends on the commitment and performance of its leaders at the grassroots.

The council boss urged the newly elected chairmen and other party officials to see their positions as a call to service rather than an avenue for personal gain. According to him, the expectations of the people are high, and only a leadership style anchored on accountability, fairness, and people-oriented policies can meet such expectations.

Ashimi further stressed the importance of unity within the party, calling on all stakeholders to close ranks and work collaboratively to sustain the progress already recorded in Somolu. He reiterated that internal cohesion and mutual respect among party members are critical to achieving long-term political stability and development.

“Your emergence at this critical time places a huge responsibility on your shoulders. You must demonstrate capacity, integrity, and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people. Let your leadership reflect transparency and inclusiveness, ensuring that no segment of the community is left behind,” he stated.

The chairman also reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to partner with party leaders at all levels to drive developmental initiatives that will improve the quality of life for residents of Somolu. He highlighted ongoing efforts in infrastructure, youth empowerment, and social welfare as part of the broader vision to transform the local government area.

Ashimi concluded by encouraging the new ward chairmen to remain accessible to the people, listen to their concerns, and translate their needs into actionable policies that will foster sustainable growth and development.

The congratulatory message was accompanied by renewed calls for collective responsibility under the banner of #BuildingSomoluTogether and #AGreaterLagosRising, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to grassroots development and progressive governance.
