Chairman Ashimi engages delegates of CAN and Onaolapo CDA, urges community growth

The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, on Thursday, 12th March, 2026, met with delegates of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Somolu Chapter, led by Rev. Fr. Ugoje Gabriel.

Both parties highlighted several areas needing effective cooperation and deep commitment to strengthen grassroots affairs beyond the Lenten season.

“Your presence and involvement are crucial in our programmes. Just like other faiths, your representation is vital for the people, especially on inter-religious matters,” he said.

Additionally, Chairman Ashimi hosted the Onaolapo Community Development Area (CDA), which comprises Sanusi, Adebiyi, Jemilugba Lane, and Anuoluwapo streets.

The group, led by Mr Kayode Sangode, was urged by Chairman Ashimi not to relent in the pursuit of good governance and to be great ambassadors of Somolu.

In the presence of the Vice Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Hassan Ojomu and SA on Agric, Hon. Waheed Bello, he further highlighted the number of roads completed and ongoing in the CDA, stressing the importance of encouraging residents not to devalue government projects.
