While at the gathering, Chairman Ashimi recounted his younger days and shared how the religious leaders in the area inspired him to become a better adult. He also stressed the importance of valuable leadership, describing it as a tool that everyone – not just public office holders – must embrace to ensure the community grows peacefully.
Meanwhile, the Guest Lecturer and Cultural Officer of The Muslim Congress (TMC) Somolu, Ustadh Abdul Wasii Bamidele, enlightened the gathering with a thoughtful lecture, reminding attendees of the essence of the Holy Month and the ideal leadership qualities every Muslim must hone.
Following a crucial donation to the mosque, Chairman Ashimi also delighted the youth and other attendees.
In addition, the Chief Host and Chief Imam of the Akoka Muslim Community, Fadheelatu Sheikh Abdul Rahman Muhammad Asaruwa, offered prayers for the council leadership, beseeching Almighty Allah for continuous knowledge, protection, and guidance for all. Furthermore, the Mufaseer Àgbà of Akoka Central Mosque, Alhaji Issa Jamiu Kudus, closed the programme with a vote of thanks and prayers as everyone departed with energised spirits for the last ten days of Ramadan.
