The flag-off ceremony, held earlier in the day, marked another milestone in the LCDA’s ongoing infrastructure drive aimed at enhancing road networks and boosting socio-economic activities within the community.
Speaking at the event, Princess Bada emphasised that the projects form part of her administration’s broader vision to provide lasting road infrastructure that will ease transportation challenges, improve accessibility, and stimulate development in Magodo Phase II, Shangisha, and adjoining neighbourhoods.
She noted that quality road construction remains a top priority of her government, stressing that the initiative is designed to ensure safer roads, better drainage systems, and improved mobility for residents and businesses operating within Ward B and beyond.
Also in attendance at the ceremony were the Vice Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Olayinka Ogunleye; the Leader of the Council, Hon. Ismaila Olamilekan Onikosi; and Hon. Bolaji Francisco Abosede, among other dignitaries and stakeholders, who commended the mayor for her proactive leadership and dedication to grassroots development.
Community leaders and residents expressed appreciation for the commencement of the projects, describing the roads as critical to easing traffic congestion and enhancing the overall living standards within the area.
The construction of Remi Sofoluwe Street and Yomi Kuye Street is expected to significantly improve connectivity within Ward B and further strengthen Ikosi-Isheri LCDA’s drive toward sustainable infrastructure development.
