Lagos APC chieftain’s wife escapes death by a whisker

There was palpable tension and gratitude to God a few week ago as the wife of a Lagos chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Niyi Osibemekun (Jackal), narrowly escaped death in a road accident along the Mowe axis of Ogun State.

The incident occurred while the APC stalwart’s wife was being conveyed in a jeep to attend a function in Ogun State. According to eyewitness accounts, the crash happened when the driver of the vehicle attempted to make a U-turn along the busy highway. In the process, an oncoming heavy-duty trailer reportedly rammed into the jeep from behind.

The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to spin uncontrollably for several minutes before eventually coming to a halt. The rear section of the jeep was said to have suffered severe damage, leaving passersby and other motorists in shock over the magnitude of the crash.

Despite the intensity of the accident, occupants of the vehicle were fortunate to escape with only minor head injuries. They were promptly attended to and have since been confirmed to be in stable condition, much to the relief of family members, associates, and well-wishers.

Reacting to the incident, one of the close associates of Hon. Osibemekun, Hon. Oladosu Matuluko described the escape as “nothing short of divine intervention,” noting that the outcome could have been far worse given the speed and size of the trailer involved.

The accident has once again drawn attention to the dangers associated with reckless driving and hazardous U-turns on major highways, particularly along the ever-busy Lagos-Ibadan corridor. Motorists have been urged to exercise caution and adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent avoidable tragedies.

As news of the incident spread, prayers and messages of goodwill continued to pour in for the APC chieftain and his family, with many thanking God for sparing the life of his wife in what could have been a fatal occurrence.
