New Term: Ashimi welcomes students back to school after festive break

The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, has extended warm greetings to pupils and students across the local government area as schools resume for a new academic term after the festive break.

In a goodwill message to mark the resumption, Hon. Ashimi expressed joy over the safe return of students to their various schools, describing education as a critical pillar for personal development and societal progress. He noted that the new term offers another opportunity for learners to refocus, embrace discipline and strive for academic excellence.

The council boss urged students to remain committed to their studies, uphold good morals and respect constituted authority within and outside the school environment, adding that hard work and perseverance are key ingredients for success.

Hon. Ashimi also called on parents and guardians to pay close attention to the welfare of their children, emphasising the importance of providing proper guidance, monitoring, and support to ensure effective learning outcomes. According to him, a strong collaboration between parents, teachers and government is essential for the holistic development of children.

Commending teachers and school administrators in Somolu, the chairman praised their dedication and resilience in shaping the future of the younger generation, assuring them of the local government’s continued support towards improving the education sector.

He reaffirmed the Somolu Local Government administration’s commitment to creating a conducive learning environment through sustained investments in education, while wishing all students a peaceful, productive, and successful academic term.
