It was a moment of praise, joy, and celebration as prominent figures from in and outside Lagos converged on 26th of October, 2025 to honour Evangelist Taiwo Olobayo “Jesu Ni Gold” at the official launch of his much-anticipated gospel album, held at the new Somolu Administrative Complex. Somolu, Lagos
The event, which drew a large audience of worshippers, community stakeholders, clergy, and political dignitaries, was described as a “divine gathering” that showcased the power of music in uniting people across social and religious divides.
Delivering his opening remarks, the Chairman of the occasion and a respected political leader, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ represented by the Somolu LG Council Chairman, Hon. Lateef Ashimi commended Evangelist Olobayo for his dedication using music as a tool for spiritual upliftment and moral transformation. He described his as “a beacon of light whose songs have continued to inspire hope and faith among the people.”
In his goodwill message, the leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Tunde James lauded the gospel artiste for his consistency and passion over the years, noting that his songs have not only blessed countless souls but have also promoted the values of peace, unity, and righteousness in the Somolu community and beyond.
Religious leaders present at the event, however, prayed for the success of the new album and encouraged Christians to support gospel musicians who are committed to spreading the message of Christ through music. The album, titled “O tipe ti mo ti mo”, features soul-lifting tracks that blend contemporary gospel rhythms with traditional African sounds.
According to Evangelist Olobayo, the project is a “testament to God’s faithfulness” and aims to bring healing, hope, and spiritual awakening to listeners.
“I’m overwhelmed by the love and support I’ve received today. This album is not just about music; it’s about spreading God’s message of love, peace, and salvation to every corner of the world.” Olobayo said during his emotional speech.
The event featured a special thanksgiving session, and the official unveiling of the album cover. Guests were later treated to a reception filled with music, dance, and fellowship.
However, as the curtains fell on the colourful ceremony, attendees described the event as a refreshing reminder of the role gospel music plays in shaping society and strengthening communal bonds.
