…applauds Princess Bada’s Grassroots Leadership
Ikosi-Isheri came to a standstill on Wednesday 9th July 2025 as dignitaries from across the political spectrum gathered for the commissioning of the Ikosi-Isheri 105-Bed state-of-the-art Primary Healthcare Centre, a landmark project facilitated by the Executive Chairman of the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Lagos State, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada.
The high-profile event drew federal attention with Hajiya Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, representing the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON. Her presence signaled a strong endorsement and recognition from the highest levels of government, reaffirming the significance of the project in bolstering healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the First Lady, Hajiya Shettima commended Princess Bada’s people-oriented leadership, describing the project as “a testament to what responsive, compassionate governance can achieve at the local level.”
The event also witnessed the presence of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who did not hold back in his admiration for the council boss. He hailed Princess Bada as “a true grassroots force delivering real impact,” adding that her unwavering commitment to community development reflects the ideals of the progressive party.
“This is not just a building; it is a symbol of hope and life for residents of Ikosi-Isheri,” the governor said. “Princess Bada has consistently demonstrated that leadership is about service, and I am proud of the standard she is setting.”
Also in attendance were key members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), state commissioners, lawmakers, party stalwarts, traditional rulers, and residents—further reinforcing the importance of the project in the socio-political landscape of Lagos State.
Princess Bada, visibly elated, expressed deep appreciation to the First Lady for her support and thanked the Lagos State Government for creating an enabling environment for grassroots transformation.
“Our people deserve the best, and this PHC is a step toward ensuring quality, accessible healthcare for all,” she said. “My heart is where my community is, and I will continue to serve with love, transparency, and purpose.”
The newly commissioned Ikosi-Isheri Modern PHC is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities which include 25 specialized units; maternity and child care units, and round-the-clock service capacity—positioning it as one of the most advanced local healthcare facilities in Lagos which is in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The project adds another feather to the cap of Princess Bada, whose developmental strides and inclusive leadership style have earned her accolades across party lines and elevated her political standing in Lagos.
While the residents celebrated with songs, dances, and traditional displays, it became clear that the event was more than just a commissioning—it was a moment of unity, gratitude, and a renewed hope in purposeful governance.
