Ikosi-Isheri will remain one of APC’s strongholds in Lagos – Mayoress Samiat Abolanle Bada

…appreciates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu for their exemplary leadership

The Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA and Yeyesewa of Ilara Kingdom, Hon. Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, has reaffirmed the unwavering loyalty and commitment of her community to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that the area remains one of the party’s most formidable strongholds in Lagos State.

Hon. Bada, who is also the Oluomo of Kosofe Kingdom and the APC’s chairmanship flag-bearer of Ikosi-Isheri in the upcoming local government election, made this bold declaration on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, shortly after receiving the party’s official flag at a well-attended ceremony held at the Lagos APC Party Secretariat, Acme, Lagos.

While addressing party faithful, community leaders, and enthusiastic supporters, Bada expressed confidence that Ikosi-Isheri will continue to deliver overwhelming support for the ruling party in all forthcoming elections. She credited the consistency and growth of APC in the area to the inclusive governance, developmental strides, and responsive leadership provided by the party across all levels.

“Today’s event is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the progressive ideals of the APC. Ikosi-Isheri LCDA has always been a strong pillar for the party in Lagos, and we shall not waver in our support,” she stated. “Our people have seen the impact of good governance and the dividends of democracy delivered by APC administrations, both at the local and national level.”

The Mayoress went on to express deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom she described as a visionary leader and symbol of democratic excellence. She also lauded Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his exceptional leadership and continuous infrastructural and socio-economic interventions that have improved lives across the state.

“I thank President Bola Tinubu for laying the solid foundation of progressive politics in Lagos and Nigeria. His courage and commitment to the nation’s development remain unmatched,” she said. “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also deserves commendation for sustaining the legacy and driving impactful projects that touch every community, including ours here in Ikosi-Isheri.”

Princess Bada emphasized her readiness to build on the achievements of her previous tenure, assuring constituents of more inclusive governance, empowerment initiatives, infrastructural development, and youth engagement, if re-elected.

The handing-over ceremony was graced by key APC stalwarts, traditional rulers, youth groups, women associations, and other stakeholders, all of whom expressed confidence in Bada’s capacity to continue steering the affairs of the LCDA with integrity and progressiveness.

However, as preparations heat up for the local government polls, Hon. Samiat Abolanle Bada’s re-endorsement as the APC chairmanship candidate marks a significant step towards consolidating the party’s dominance in the area and further signals her strong foothold in the political landscape of Lagos State.
