As Muslims across the globe embark on the sacred journey of Ramadan, Hon. Akeem Anifowoshe, a chairmanship aspirant for the Somolu All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged the faithful to dedicate the holy month to seeking divine intervention for Nigeria’s peace, unity, and progress.
In a statement released on Thursday 20th March 2025 in Somolu, Lagos, Anifowoshe emphasized the spiritual significance of Ramadan, describing it as a period of deep reflection, self-discipline, and communal harmony.
He called on Muslims faithful to leverage the power of prayer to beseech Almighty Allah for the country’s stability, sustainable development, and prosperity.
“As we observe this sacred month of fasting and devotion, let us remember to pray fervently for our dear nation. Nigeria stands at a critical juncture, and through collective supplication, we can ask Almighty Allah to guide our leaders, unite our people, and bless our land with peace and progress,” Anifowoshe stated.
He further underscored the importance of strict adherence to the principles of Ramadan, noting that the month offers both spiritual and physical benefits for those who observe it sincerely.
According to him, Ramadan is not just a period of abstinence from food and drink but an opportunity for personal purification, increased charity, and strengthening of faith.
The APC aspirant also prayed for a smooth and successful fasting period, urging Muslims to embrace the virtues of patience, kindness, and generosity, which are core values of the holy month.
