The Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Herosports Africa, Mr. Sheriff Owolabi Bada has condemned the kidnapping of 14 staff of Supersport where 3 persons were reportedly killed, 8 rescued, 2 escaped on their own while 1 is still missing.
The kidnapped victims were said to be on their way to Uyo from Anambra to cover the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria and Libya when they were ambushed and kidnapped.
“I condemn the killing of the Supersports media crew by the perpetrators of the heinous act as needless and must not go unpunished. Killing the innocent souls who were on national duty to serve their fatherland is barbaric, insensitive, inhumane and uncalled for”.
“On behalf of my family and the management staff of Herosports Africa, I commiserate with families of the Supersport staff killed in the unfortunate incident that occurred on Friday 11th October 2024.”
“May the good Lord accept their returns, forgive their misdeed, and give the families left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. He prayed.
The African sports news boss, however, prayed for the quick recovery of the rescued victims while he urged the government to find and bring the culprits to book.
