To move the association to the expected height, an 8-man caretaker committee was constituted by members to run the affairs for the next 2 years after which an election will be held to choose a new executive.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration, the chairman of the caretaker committee, Comrade Dele Oyeledun popularly known as ‘Droid’ said he was so excited to see his colleagues after 24 years of leaving the college while he reiterated his commitment to moving the association to an enviable height with support of the members of the association.
He went further, “As the newly appointed chairman of the Alumni, the welfare of the members is sacrosanct as we’ll be setting up a welfare board whereby the welfare of our colleagues will be looked into in terms of health, financial assistance, and some other areas concerning our colleagues”.
“We’re also looking at the project committee to look into a facility we can put in place at our Alma-mater that’ll further enhance a conducive learning environment for the students of the college”.
Similarly, the former Vice-President of the college, Fatimah Binta Oluwakemi Shoge (nee Bakare) described the reunion as a source of joy to her having last seen many of her colleagues 24 years ago.
“I’m delighted to see my colleagues after 24 years and seeing them today is the grace of God and I pray to God to keep us together for us to witness many more years while I’m also using this medium to implore the committee to implement policies that’ll benefit the members”.
In the same vein, the CEO of Owo Cement and Block Ventures, a foremost building material merchant, Mr. Sakiru Owolabi Onabanjo in his remarks hinted that the reunion was a blessing in disguise for him and many of the old students adding that the reunion would not only close the wide gap among the alumni but also open doors of opportunities to many especially the business minded individuals.
He continued, “This is not just an Alumni reunion, this is also an avenue to explore the business relationship that’ll keep us together for many years to come. This will strengthen the union and promote unity and progressiveness”. Echoed.

In order to make the next event more comfortable, exciting, and memorable, the yet-to-be-announced December date has been penciled down by the Executive for deliberation while members have also been informed that the specific date will be announced in due course.
The chairman in his closing remarks, however, thanked those who turned up and those who could not make it to the event due to unforeseen situations for their unflinching support while he enjoined them to continue to give their best irrespective of their location adding that everyone’s contribution to the progress of the association is key.
