The Sarkin Hausawa of Somolu/Bariga Community; Alhaji Muhammed Ahmed
The former Arewa youths coordinator and the longest serving Aide to the foremost Nigeria Oil and Gas magnate, Chief Adewale Teluwo, Alhaji Muhammed Ahmed was recently appointed as the Sarkin Hausawa of Somolu/Bariga Community a few months ago by the HRH Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos State and the Chairman of the Lagos State Council of Arewa Chiefs; Alhaji Ali Kabiru.
The colourful ceremony which was held at the residence of the new Sarkin in town at Abiodun Street, Somolu, Lagos amidst pomp and pageantry attracted top Arewa leaders, political elites, friends, and families from in and outside the state who came in their large numbers to celebrate with the new Sarkin Hausawa signaling the beginning of new administration that will last for many years come.
Alhaji Muhammed who described the appointment as a well-deserved one, said that the Sarkin Hausawa was such a leadership position that must be guided jealously with pride and dignity of all purpose adding that part of his agenda was to foster unity and peace between Yoruba and Arewa community having served at various leadership capacity.
He continued, “I’m so delighted to have been appointed as the Sarkin Hausawa of Somolu/Bariga by the HRH Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos State and the Chairman of the Lagos State Council of Arewa Chiefs; Alhaji Ali Kabiru with the interest of my people at heart as I’m also ready to work hand-in-hand with the Yoruba community to ensure relative peace and harmony in the community”.
“There’ll be no fight whatsoever between Arewa and Yoruba Communities in Somolu/Bariga while I will constantly call for meetings to discuss other important issues”. He stated.
Alhaji Muhammed who hailed from Argungun local government of Kebbi-State, before now was the leader in Abiodun community, Somolu, Lagos, Assistant Chairman; All Progressive Congress (APC) Arewa Community, Financial Secretary; Arewa Somolu/Bariga.
In conclusion, the new Sarkin Hausawa of Somolu/Bariga thanked all the dignitaries who attended the epoch-making occasion for their unflinching support.
