The Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ on the occasion of the stakeholders’ consultative forum tagged “Budget of Renewed Hope and Transformation” for the year 2024 has said his administration has done greatly in all areas of development having placed the entire community on a solid foundation for continuous massive growth.
According to Agba-Akin of Agboyi Kingdom who made this in his keynote address on Monday, December 11th, 2023 during the Sixth Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum held at the council secretariat with the good people of Somolu local government further revealed that seeking their relevant input into the budgetary process became necessary to ensure that the interest of the various segment of the community is adequately catered for in the year 2024 budget estimate.
He continued, “On environment, we had continuously embarked on cleaning and disposal of refuse in all the eight political wards within the local government. This was extended to all black spots within the local government including fumigation of all our markets and schools”.
“Furthermore, the development in all areas rest on the good health of our people which spur us to take the bull by the horn and provide standard Health care services for the community. Effective and efficient drugs revolving scheme in all our primary health facilities, free screening of breast cancer, procurement of drugs for staff clinic are also being put in place”.
“Under the Work and infrastructure, we have rehabilitated and constructed many roads within Somolu and also sank boreholes in all wards”.
“Education of our children has witnessed tremendous elevation through the provision of school materials, free G.C.E, and JAMB forms, and also the active participation of our pupils in the Lagos State yearly Spelling Bee competition while our elderly citizens in the Somolu also benefited from our monthly package including the widows and widowers”.
Meanwhile, in his closing remarks, Mr. Koseleri poured encomium on the party leaders, exco members, Legislative Council, Management, and general staff for their endurance, participatory efforts, and meaningful contributions at all times, especially during this period of moving from our former council secretariat which paved way for another development in our health service to have a better and befitting edifice that will be the pride of our dear local government.
“Without the great efforts of all the stakeholders’ and the community, this administration would not have achieved up to this level. I say a big thank you to everybody both young and old. You’re the mirror through which administration sees the challenges facing our people therefore, your candid ideas, suggestion, and opinions as regards development in the community is highly needed”.
