One of the community development associations in Lagos state, Unity Community Development Association (CDA) under the aegis of Somolu CDC comprising of Akanni, Ogunbadejo, Duru close, and Aiyepe recently inaugurated new executive members of the association to usher in new dispensation and guide the association for another four years.
The inauguration of the new members which took place at No. 6, Ogunbadejo Street, Somolu brought together community and religious leaders, the top cadre of the Somolu CDC, politicians, and other members of the community with a reflection of a robust cordial relationship and peaceful coexistence among the inhabitants of the community.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, the Chairman of Somolu CDC, Hon. Alhaji Tajudeen Tella in his remarks congratulated the new excos and admonished them to hit the ground running emphasizing the significance of love and unity in attaining the goals for which they’re given the mandate noting that without love and unity in the association, nothing can be achieved.
“Let me first and foremost congratulate the new exco members for being willing to serve their immediate community and I will enjoin the members to love one another and come together as one to be able to achieve the target goal. In any community where there’s love and unity, the progress in such a community is always at a geometric progression. Although, there’s no way the house will not experience crisis but always find a way to settle it amicably.” He claimed.
In the same vein, the chairman of the Unity CDA, Engr. Lanre Odujoko in his response thanked the stakeholders in the community for their unflinching support where necessary with a promise to use his position as a leader to further enrich the lives of the inhabitants through robust developmental programmes.
He continued, “Over the years, we’ve made significant progress in the community and we’re planning to do more and make life more meaningful for the people, especially in the area of security, street light, Education, health, sports, and some other needed infrastructure. We’ll not rest on our oars until we hit our laid down target and God’s willing, it will come to fruition”.
