As part of the effort to bring efficient service delivery to his administration, the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ on Monday 18 July 2022 presented brand new automobiles to both the management staff and political office holders of the council.
The presentation ceremony which was held at the Shipeolu secretariat of the council had the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, began the new week with official duties in grand style where he presented Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited Edition to the Vice Chairman, Hon. Adekunle Ekiyemi Odujobi who also doubles as the Supervisory Councillor for Education.
Briefing the media men during the presentation, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu said giving out the car becomes necessary in order to aid their day-to-day activities which in turn will bring efficient service delivery.
He added, “Let me say that the presentation of the cars to the public office holders and management staff is a statutory gesture that falls in line with the laws that bind the local governments from the state government as a way of complementing the efforts of both public office holders and the management staff of the council”. he enthused.
The Legislators who received the automobiles are, Hon. Ibrahim Tajudeen (Deputy Leader), Hon. Abdul-Lateef Muibi (Majority Leader), Hon. Mobolaji Adebayo Teluwo (Deputy Majority Leader), Hon. Abdul-Lateef Ashimi (Chief Whip), Hon. Tunde James Oyeyiola (Deputy Majority Leader), including Hon. Omofolarin Adegbite (Ijebu-Tedo Councillor) and Hon. Kingsley Ihenyen (Fadeyi Councillor).
The presentation was also extended to the management staff which include the Council’s HRO, Auditor, Sanitarian H.O. Ogunbekun while Hon. Mike Oikeh led Revenue Team and received two cars to run their office affairs with ease and within the community while on daily role calls.
One of the Somolu All Progressive Congress scribes and chairman of the campaign team that ushered him into the office for a second term, Hon. Oladosu Matuluko was not left out of the car jamboree as he was also gifted with an Infinite X35H series for his efforts.
While appreciating the Council Chairman for the gesture showered on his colleagues, the Somolu Legislative Council; Hon. Yomi Osunkoya (Leader of the Council) led by example to applaud the Council Helmsman during the equal distribution of the automobiles, “despite the fact that the vehicle is statutory, our Council Chairman, in his usual character has given out highly exotic cars to members of Somolu Legislative Council and that speaks volume of the brotherly relationship we operate in Somolu”, the leader said.
Present at the presentation ceremony includes the Council Manager; Mrs. Arinola Shodipo, the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG); Hon. Afolabi Ayodele, the council Chief of Staff; Hon. Folarin Olubiyi, the Council Treasurer; Mr. S.O. Ogundare not leaving out friends, families, and well-wishers.
