Lagos philanthropist bags Community Leadership Award

One of Lagos’ prominent socialites and philanthropists, Dr Bishop Emmanuel Abegunde, popularly known as ‘Oyinbo Jesu’, has been honoured with the Distinguished Community Leadership Award by Somolu Newspaper Leadership Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to community development and humanitarian service over the past year.

The prestigious honour was presented as part of Somolu Newspaper’s commitment to celebrating individuals whose selfless service, leadership, and philanthropic initiatives have continued to impact lives and promote sustainable development within their communities.

Speaking on the rationale behind the award, the Publisher of Somolu Newspaper, Mr Sheriff Owolabi Bada, said the decision to honour Dr Abegunde was reached after a careful assessment of his remarkable contributions to the community’s growth and development over the years.
