As a way of appreciating their courage and contributions to society, the chairperson of Somolu local government, Hon. Omotanwa Mariam Salau has sent a wordy message to courageous women on the occasion of the International Women’s Day celebration.
The press statement from the office of the council chairperson described the day as a day set aside to appreciate and celebrate the efforts of women of honour who have contributed and still contributing their quota to society one way or the other in their own little way to make society a better place.
“Today, I want to specially appreciate and celebrate those courageous women in our society for their unflinching support to ensure things are their rightful places. I also want to implore them not to rest on their oars as we still have a lot to do to even make it better than what we have at the moment”.
“Let me also remind you about your health. Health they say is wealth. Going for a regular check-up is very sacrosanct. Visit the health care provider nearest to you to ensure you’re in a good state of mind and it’s only then we can be talking of other things or jumping around for sustainability”.
“And don’t forget that 2023 Election is around the corner, go and validate your Permanent Voters Card (PVC). This will give you the opportunity to choose the right political leader(s) be it House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senator or even your Presidential candidate”. She stated.
In her closing remarks, the Somolu 2023 ABAT Movement Women leader enjoined women out there who are yet to join All Progressive Congress (APC) to do so in order to make our society a better place through women’s representation in politics.
