Somolu comes alive as foremost Somolu printer, Rotarian Rasak Abiodun remembers late mum

Saturday 19th June 2021will remain evergreen as families, friends and associates stormed Duru close in Somolu local government area of Lagos state, the venue of the event in honour of late Mrs. Esther Abeke Abiodun, the mother of Rotarian Rasak Abiodun, the Printing merchant and Otun-Balogun of Ode Gbaguraland, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The well-attended “Owambe” party paraded young and old, politicians, royal fathers, businessmen, and women alike from far and near who dressed in specially selected colorful Ankara in remembrance and celebration of late Mrs. Esther Abeke Abiodun who died 32 years ago at the age of 52 years.

The slightly sunny and electrifying atmosphere was in tandem with the Gospel band that played to the admiration of the guests, who were treated to a sumptuous meal and cool it down with assorted wines and some other nutritious drinks.

The ‘Omoloku’ as usually called in Yoruba ethnic parlance which literally means the ‘sons or daughters of the deceased, was seen beaming with smiles as he welcomed and exchanged pleasantries with his guests in his white attire and white cap to fit with neck and wrist beads reflecting the real chieftaincy status.

Speaking Somolu online Newspaper, the Otun Balogun of Ode-Gbaguraland, Abeokuta, Ogun state, Chief Rotarian Rasaq Abiodun said his mother was all he could ever want in a mother noting that she was very kind, loving, caring, and accommodating who taught him to be God-fearing, hardworking, self-reliance and trustworthy.

“My mother inspired us a lot and taught us to be closer to God, work hard, remain steadfast and till today, I still keep those words close to my heart which I have also passed to my children and I’m sure her impact is manifesting in our life”. He opined

“Even though she’s no more, the legacy she left behind is worthwhile and will forever be treasured and pass on to generation next”.

In his closing remarks, the chairman of Lithoquick Production, showered the invited guests who honoured the event with encomium while he prayed to God to prolong their life in good health to be able to celebrate their aged parents.
