National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Somolu Chapter as parts of its statutory obligations attended a one-day youth programme organized by the National Orientation Agency on attitudinal re-orientation themed “Youth Participation in National Development”.
The Agency whose objectives were in line with the 1999 Nigeria Constitution, Chapter 2, Section 23 as amended, deemed it fit to promote adherence to National Ethics (Core Values). The subject of discussions was based on inculcating the core values to thrive as Nigerian Youths in all endeavours, namely, Patriotism, Discipline, Integrity, Dignity of Labor, Social Justice, Religious Tolerance, and Self-Reliance. The Comrade Musa Fasasi led Executives left no stone unturned, as he joined attendees from other Local Branches/Voluntary Youth Organizations in giving coherent feedbacks to the dignitaries present.
Discussants at the enlightenment programme were Prince Waheed Olalekan Ishola (Director, NOA Lagos State), Hon. Mrs. Abisola Olusanya (Commissioner for Agriculture, represented by Mr Emmanuel Audu), Mr Paul O. Shomide (Deputy Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps), CP Akeem Odumosu (Commissioner for Police, represented by ACP Jide Agboola), Barrister Phillips Obuesi (Representative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps), Comrade Billi’aminu Oba (NYCN Lagos State Chairman) and Mr Wemimo Odumosu (CDC Chairman, Surulere).
