Cerebral Int’l Schools hold a 2-day lecture on sexual abuse

As a result of sexual abuse which has been on the rise in recent times and has been considered a public health issue because of the various health implications resulting from it, one of the top-rated post-secondary schools in the state, Cerebral International Schools, Ishawo, Ikorodu, Lagos will be holding a 2-day seminar as a way of enlightening the students and as well discourage the barbaric act.

The 2-days lecture/seminar tagged “Sexual Abuse by Educators” is scheduled to hold on the 17th and 19th of March, 2021 at the school hall, Isawo, Ikorodu.

According to the host and the Proprietor of Cerebral International College, Dr. Tayo Adenuga revealed that the essence of the seminar is to sensitize the students and the teachers on the dangers of the act to the affected gender and the society at large.

He continued, “Honestly, this an attempt to further give voice to the fight against the societal ill called ‘sexual abuse’ that has eaten deep into the fabric of our society especially in the institution of learning”.

“We as an institution of learning will continue to do our possible best to discourage the barbaric any act that could put our children in danger and as well encourage them to speak out at any given time when they notice or get abuse by any male or female teacher”.

“The time is now and we must continue to do our best in the best interest of our children so that it does not degenerate into something else and this is the reason why we have decided to take the bull by the horn and start the campaign from the school as the saying goes that ‘charity begins at home. We’ll not relent on our efforts to ensure the dreaded societal ill does not find its into our environment”. he concluded

Meanwhile, the seminar as planned will parades academics, parents, students, businessmen and women, and government functionaries from in and out of the metropolis.

However, some of the noble guest scholars that’ll be coming to do justice to the topic include a certified Child protection expert, Mrs. Sokoya Grace, and a lawyer and Coordinator, Amah Golden Rest Foundation.
