…gives free personal care products
Having been keeping his promise to his community, the residents and the leaders in the Somolu community not leaving out All Progressive Congress (APC) have yet again expressed their gratitude to the Council Chairman, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu for hosting A-2-day community Health Campaign and Free Health Checkups (Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, Breast Examination, including Manual Massage Therapy).
The free healthcare initiative which was made possible by Prestige Wellness and Health Succour through Hon. Maryam Owolabi Bada in support of the Chairman’s second term ambition was well attended by those who have health-related issues.
Meanwhile, the programme was flagged off by the Chairman, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu as ably represented by Hon. Mariam Salau (Chairperson) saw him highlighted the significance and benefit of healthy living, stressing the use of effective medication as prescribed, daily exercises, while also urging the attendees to keep to Covid-19 protocols, for there is no replacement for sound health.
Prior to the ongoing modern primary health centre and in reminisce of the Chairman’s efforts on the aforesaid, Hon. Olumide Akinola (Supervisory Councillor for Health) delighted the beneficiaries, stating the additional values expected from the PHC, which would be named after the First Lady of Lagos, Dr Mrs Ibijoke Sanwoolu.
Speaking to Somolu News, one of the beneficiaries of the programme, Mrs Shakirat Ajeigbe commended the council chairman for putting up such programme that brought succour to them at a critical moment when the country is not in order.
“Sincerely, I was just thinking of consulting an ophthalmologist because of an eye-related issue that I’ve been experiencing lately and this programme came up. It’s indeed a great opportunity for me and some other people who have one health issue or the other. she stated
In the same vein, Mr Sunday Adubuleja, a community leader who never hesitate to heap praises on the organisers for doing a great job that will go a long way in alleviating their suffering especially those who have financial constraints which makes getting medication for their ailments impossible.
However, the Director-General of Dullar Continua Initiative, Prince Adesina Adeeso a.k.a Obama called upon other political-inclined women to emulate the programme’s pioneer by contributing their quota to the development of their community in their own little way while Mr Lateef Ashimi (SA on Education) buttressed the need for standard precautions for all citizens.
In addition to the free tests, the beneficiaries also get free Aloe Vera’s Anti-Cancer and Anti-Stress Personal Care Products, which includes Garlic Thyme, Arctic Sea, Forever daily, Shield Deodorant Stick, Heat Lotion among others, fully paid by the Council Boss.
Mrs Oyenekan Oluyemisi, Mrs Oyeyemi Olusanya from the team of medical personnel as well as Hon. Rasak Tajudeen (SA on Market Matters) testified to the effectiveness of the products as regular users.
Joining the same assessments of the 2-days health programme were the volunteers to ensure normalcy at the centre which includes Comrade Raheem Afees (SA on Food Security), Mrs Rabiu Omolara (SSA on Market Affairs), Comrade Asuku Ogembe, Mrs Toyin Olusanya and Alhaja Kudirat Adetoye a.k.a Saudi.
