There is currently tension in Oke Mosan, Ogun State seat of power in Abeokuta, the state capital, as a fresh power tussle between the Special Adviser to the Governor on political matters, Biyi Adeleye, the Special Adviser to the Governor on IRS, Mr Adesina and Bamidele Abiodun, the First Lady, gathers dust.
According to findings by Ogun Chronicles, the trouble started when the Special Adviser to the governor on political matters, Hon Biyi Adeleye reportedly lashed out at the first lady of Ogun State over issues bothering on the production of motorcycle plate numbers by telling her she has no say in this government.
The statement by Biyi Adeleye angered one of the staunch supporters of the first lady, Hon Peju Shote who is serving as the Special adviser on rural development
A top source from the government house told Ogun Chronicles that Honorable Peju Shote proceeded to the IRS office to viciously attack both the Special Adviser on IRS, Mr Adesina and Biyi Adeleye citing claims that both are embarrassing and insulting the first family in Ogun State
The wife of the governor has earlier requested for rights to supply plate numbers to motorcycle riders in Ogun State.
A source in the government house confirmed the development to Ogun Chronicles that Mrs Bamidele Abiodun wanted to secure the contract for a close aide and she’s willing to engage the current supplier to share the contract with him.
Ogun Chronicles reliably gathered that the National President of ACOMORAN, who is also the former state chairman of ACOMORAN is the current contractor supplying the plate numbers. Amid this crisis, Apelogun is reportedly not comfortable and not ready to let go of the contract.
Top aides close to the first lady were also fuming on the overbearing influence of some certain individuals ‘Cabal’ in the government. Ogun Chronicles also learnt Biyi Adeleye was not part of the campaign of Mr Governor. He was reported to have joined after the struggle.
Recall that Ogun State All Progressive Congress has been embroiled in different crisis since the inception of the Dapo Abiodun administration which prompt party executives and leaders to accuse the Governor of appointing the only loyalist of a Lagos Senator to pilot the affairs of the government which is a breach of an agreement between the political gladiators that stood behind the emergence of the governor.
The crisis deepened more when loyalists of a chieftain of the party, Chief Olusegun Osoba have reportedly accused the Governor of unbearable marginalization of the party that brought him into the government.
