Jigawa State government recorded another COVID-19 death late on Sunday, four days after announcing its first death.
The first death, a Lagos returnee at Fanisau Community of Dutse Local Government of the State was announced to have died on Wednesday. He was the husband of the woman whose death was announced on Sunday.
Commissioner for Health in Jigawa, Abba Zakari made the announcement. He said the first patient who died, upon return from Lagos husband, had been treating himself for an unknown ailment, according to residents.
Zakari said “Immediately after we got results of Jigawa, we swiftly moved to action and evacuated the patients into the isolation centre. Unfortunately, one of them came in a very bad situation and passed away.”
In another sad tale, a pregnant woman and the wife of the first fatality case bled to death on Sunday. According to the Commissioner, she died of complications from COVID-19 and had been to two different hospitals in the state before she was tested positive for COVID-19.
“The state recorded the second death from a pregnant female patient, a resident of Miga Local Government Area of the state, who bled to death as a result of the miscarriage she had at the Dutse Isolation centre,” Zakari said.
