A foremost businessman, Lagos Socialite, philanthropist and former chairman of defunct Obanta/VIP football club, Chief Dewale Teluwo has commended the organisers of Somolu Newspaper Under-16Table Tennis championship for putting together a lofty idea aimed at harnessing table tennis talents in Somolu/Bariga community.

Obanta, as fondly called in the community and admirer, has expressed satisfaction about the initiative which he said will engage and as well keep youths away from “unnecessary evil” that cannot add anything meaningful to their life but rather lead them astray.

“I want to commend the efforts of the organizers for putting the event together to enable the younger ones who love sports (Table Tennis) exhibit their God-given talent. This is really commendable. We all know the game of table tennis has brought so much pride and honour not only to Somolu but Lagos and Nigeria as a whole”.

“When we collectively support the game, such impression will definitely go a long way in developing the game and checkmate needless social unrest among the youths in the society thereby translating to a better, conducive, secured and lively community” he stated

In conclusion, the Ijebu-born technocrat urged the new generation of table tennis players to borrow a leaf from their predecessors, remain focus and be good ambassadors for the community while he called on the elites in the community contribute their quota to the development of Somolu community.

Chief Dewale Teluwo is a philanthropist who has his hand in a chain of businesses which includes Oil and Gas, Real Estate, Insurance, Education, and sports.

A football enthusiast who has discovered many athletes that had represented the nation at the global level among who are Kanu Nwankwo, Taribo West, Godwin Okpara and many other numerous to mention.
